AUSTIN, TEXAS – October 24, 2015 – In an effort to drive an awareness of the true economic value Austin musicians provide the city, The Austin Blues Revue highlights local artists that arguably have built the city’s multi-billion dollar industry. The next event brings together influential business people for an upscale social event followed by an exclusive, one night only performance by Austin’s preeminent artists.

Featuring special guests Guy Forsyth and The Texas Horns the high profile event is scheduled for January 25, 2016 at Google Fiber Space, located at 201 Colorado, Austin, Texas.

The Austin Music Census was released in spring; its overarching message was that the Austin Music Scene accounts for billions of dollars in revenue for the city. Unfortunately, for “The Live Music Capital of the World” the study also showed that this economic boon isn’t sustainable as musicians and venues struggle to stay in business.

“I think that number should be $10 billion,” said Pete Monfre, founder of the Austin Blues Revue “The Austin Blues Revue tweaks the live music and venue business models so all the stakeholders win including businesses outside the music industry.” states Monfre. “The businesses have a great promotional vehicle, the musicians earn more and the venue is packed with affluent customers. Everybody gets value and that’s what makes it sustainable.”

The event is the collaborated efforts of Monfre, Don Osmond of OzComm and Producer Mark Epstein from Target City Productions.

Monfre continues, “As one of the most innovative cities in the world, we have an opportunity to change our model so all stakeholders benefit. The event we have planned for January is an example of this innovation, and has proven to increase musician wages, improve venue profitability and bring opportunity to businesses outside the music industry.”

The Austin Blues Revue is a quarterly, upscale business social event followed by a high production music experience that features well known Austin-based artists performing in a throwback style blues revue format produced by Austin ace producer Mark Epstein.

“The Austin Music Census uncovered what we all knew in the music industry” said Epstein. “Our best players seldom perform here and when they do, they don’t make much money. This is driving our talent out of town – and with them goes a tremendous amount of economic impact.”
